Fairly attractive.
There was an innate sweetness to Rhonda. She could pull off the dramatics but had a nice light touch with comedy. And, for some reason, I can always get the hubby to watch a movie if I let him know she is in the cast. H’m.
Only very recently I have watched OUT OF THE PAST,PONY EXPRESS
and WHILE THE CITY SLEEPS there’s a lot of Rhonda in my collection, she
made really good movies.
Very sad to hear this today.
I’ve been meaning to give GUNFIGHT AT OK CORALL another spin,
what a movie that was.
Who owns the rights to those Benedict Bogeaus/Allan Dwan movies I’d
love TENNESSEE’S PARTNER and SLIGHTLY SCARLET on Blu Ray
as well as the classic (non Rhonda) SILVER LODE.
In my book those films deserve the Criterion treatment.
RIP Rhonda Fleming one of the last “Golden Era Greats”
As much as I love Tennessee’s Partner and Gunfight At The OK Corral, Slightly Scarlet gets my vote as the ultimate Rhonda Fleming movie. John Alton was perfect for her, or she was perfect for him — either way works!
John k ,totally agree with you about Rhonda Fleming. She did star in some great films ,and GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORALL is in my top 10 of westerns.
A collection of Benedict Bogeaus/Allan Dwan movies on BLU RAY would be great .I have a French release collection ALAN DWAN COFFRET THE LEGENDS OF HOLLYWOOD on DVD which I was lucky to get brand new.It has 7 films on 5 DVDs and although the titles are printed in French, they have English audio. They come in individual slim plastic cases housed in a strong cardboard case.
A beautiful Lady, always professional and competent giving any Film she was 100% whether it was a good, bad or indifferent one, plus Technicolor was made for her.
So sorry to read about Rhonda Flemings passing. A most beautiful girl enhanced by 1950s glorious technicolor
I am really sorry to hear of her passing. She had style and a look that at
times took your breath away. I became a fan while still in grade school.
