KIno Lorber has announced the upcoming release (early 2020) of Douglas Sirk’s Taza, Son Of Cochise (1954) — restored in 3-D, widescreen and Technicolor by the fine folks at 3-D Film Archive.
It’s so good to see these Universal Westerns making their way to hi-def. Can’t wait for this one.
Great News. Bob Furmanek said last march on the HTF Forum that 4 westerns are slated to be restored by the 3D film archives. I have high hopes that we might get Wings of the Hawk!
No kidding! (I know you’re not kidding, but that was my immediate reaction.)
Very cool! Can’t wait. Got “Gun Fury”, so naturally I gotta get Taza.
I just wish the copyright BS could get put aside so Hondo can get the Archive treatment. The print is out there. I remember the anaglyph showing back in 1991 that aired on TV. Had to go down to the local 7-11 convenience store to get the glasses. I did, and they’re on my refrigerator today. I think Paramount controls Hondo and has done everything in their power to shelf Hondo forever.
I was at the local Big Lots store the other day and they had a stack of Hondo on Blu-Ray for $5.
