Here’s one so many of us have been waiting for. Warner Archive has announced an upcoming Blu-Ray release for Sam Peckinpah’s Ride The High Country (1962).
Surely one of the finest Westerns ever made. Absolutely essential.
Thanks to Dick Vincent for the great news.
Indeed essential. I still have my VHS tape, but the machine is fading fast. A lot of catching up to do.
I’d say you’re due for an upgrade on this one!
Oh, that is just excellent news! Thank you so much for passing that along.
Great news indeed! Has anyone heard anything more about the rumored upcoming release of RIDE LONESOME on Blu in Germany?
Not certain if this is news, but just in case, and this is for UK readers and viewers.
One-Eyed Jacks will be out on Blu ray from Arrow Academy sometime in June. There will be plenty of extras, though I’m not certain how they compare to the Criterion release.
Arrow has Marlon Brando: The Wild One, a 1996 documentary, as main extra.
Warner Archive now seem to be releasing one Blu Ray every week.
They have also announced Burt Kennedy’s THE ROUNDERS on Blu Ray.
Mike-
I have been told by a very reliable source that RIDE LONESOME will
be released by Koch in Germany…no date announced yet.
The same source mentioned that all the Columbia Renowns have
been licensed for Blu Ray releases to various companies-no further details
yet.
The Elephant France Blu Rays of NIGHT PASSAGE and ULZANA’S
RAID are supreme-wonderful picture quality.
ULZANA’S has three different versions and all play in English without
French subs. In addition to all that very user friendly menus and
(on my multi region player) region free.
I will order this Blu Ray the minute its available.
Thanks, Allen.
