I’ve enjoyed the researchin’, writin’ and opinionatin’ of this blog so much, I wanted to do the same thing about the other genres I love, from 50s monster stuff to the 60s spy craze to 70s road movies.
It’s called The Hannibal 8. I’ll let you figure out what that’s about. There’s no book or anything attached to this one, it’s just an excuse to watch some of my favorite films again—and write a bit about ’em.
Check it out when you get a chance. (That’s Buster Keaton up top, in 1924’s Sherlock Jr.)
Wishing you the very best with your new blog, Toby. Looking good.
Hope you will still find time for your westerns though. I’m missing Tim Holt Tuesdays and Wild Bill Wednesdays!!
I’m missing ’em, too, Jerry. My posts typically sit around for weeks as works in progress, and I post them when I think they’re good enough. A number of Elliott and Holt pieces are in such a state.
Hoping to turn some of these things around soon.
Thanks for being interested in them in the first place!
Love ’em, Toby.
I am a big western movies fan particularly classic westerns ,but every now and then a movie from a different genre comes along which catches my eye .Such a movie is BENEATH THE 12 MILE REEF which I bought today even though I’d never seen it before, it seem to have a good storyline to it . The funny part is that I never realised who was in it until I got it home .GILBERT ROLAND,ROBERT WAGNER,RICHARD BOONE,PETER GRAVES and HARRY CAREY.JNR. who have been in many a western movie were all in it. I’m not very good at reviewing movies, but all I can say is that I really enjoyed it and I would love to hear other peoples opinion on it.
