Harry Keller directing Audie Murphy and Joan O’Brien in Six Black Horses (1962).
Ray Enright and Dorothy Malone on the set of South Of St. Louis (1949).
Jesse Hibbs directing Gia Scala (left) and Joanna Moore (right) in the Audie Murphy picture Ride A Crooked Trail (1958).
I love behind the scenes shots like these. Thanks.
I’m a fan of these shots, too. With this batch, I was happy to find out what these directors look like, after wallowing in their work for so long.
Yes, it’s great to see these. I’ve logged in plenty of hours seeing (and liking) the movies of all three of these directors but had never seen a picture of any of them until now. And I too love these kinds of on set pictures.
May we hope for Gallery: Directors at Work – The Sequel?
Jesse Hibbs was my great uncle, and what a great guy he was. He had no children of his own so for many Christmases he always gave expensive gifts to me and my brother and my cousins. I am lucky enough to be the owner now of his 31 Chicago Bears team photo featuring him, Red Grange and Bronco Nagurski.
Wow! Welcome aboard. Your great uncle’s work is a favorite of lots of those who mosey through this blog. He made some terrific Westerns.
