Yesterday I managed to spend a few hours at NC State’s DH Hill Library. Their film section’s pretty good, and I’ve been hanging out in it off and on for years. (Stephen Bowie also knows it well.)
Went in with a few particular films in mind — Wagon Master (1950), The Horse Soldiers (1959), Vera Cruz (1954), Johnny Guitar (1954) and The True Story Of Jesse James (1957) — and, of course, ended up bouncing all over the place.
One picture that refuses to turn up anywhere is Fury At Showdown (1957). Aside from a bit in a Gerd Oswald interview that appeared in Filmfax, and an occasional mention from Herman Cohen, nothing.
