Republic’s Hellfire (1949) — starring Willilan Elliott, Marie Windsor and Forrest Tucker — is one of my favorite Westerns.
The cowboy firing his guns at the camera in the “Man with his misdeeds…” opening montage is stuntman Fred Carson.
So now you know.

Excellent movie in all accounts; a moral movie based on ” civilizing ” lawless cowpunchers in a frontier town by spreading the words of Our Lord Jesus, The Christ. A movie of this message has/ would never be produced by big studios in Hollywood in the last 45 years; only anti-theist, especially anti-Christian movies with plenty of immoral behavior. Marie Windsor tends to find Western cowgirl roles; specially cross-dressing ones wearing male clothes , her favorite. She dons pants, cowboy boots, spurs, gunleather, cowboy shirt and hat. Marie wears tight , shiny, dark brown chaps over her pants and looks pretty erotic in drag. The ending is a thriller.
