I’ve been meaning to mention Trailers From Hell on here for some time. And since this is their Wild West Week, this seems like the perfect time to do it.
This Friday, they’ll feature John Sayles talking about Budd Boetticher’s Ride Lonesome (1959).

“Ride Lonesome At Trailers From Hell” sounds like Warhol cowboy porn
I typed that post title innocently enough, then found it very funny when I re-read it.
The remains of a trailer that burned sits not too far from my house, and it made me think of it.
One of THE most perfect westerns. Scott doesn’t look particularly well in that photo, though; he seems oddly overly made-up!
Completely unrelated but as the absence of anamorphic DRUMBEAT has been noted on this blog before, I wanted to note that TCM has it scheduled in LETTERBOX on January 9. Exciting news. Check schedule and your local times.
