Bob Hope (in 1952′s Son Of Paleface): “Ah, music. Music and a big yellow moon, moseying betwixt the clouds. There’s nothing like music and a big yaller moon to keep a critter hankering for the bunkhouse doing the sagebrush ooh-la-la.”
The downside to the demise of HD DVD in favor if Blu-Ray is that there’s now no use for the high-def disc DVD of Son Of Paleface. I’d love to see it, though the standard DVD is lovely.
What a marvelous movie, to me, much better than The Paleface (1948). Right now, Son Of Paleface appears to be out of print in any format.

Some version of it is available on Netflix — I have it in my queue and it appears to be ‘available now.’
I’m hoping the HD transfer eventually gets Blu-Ray’d, though I haven’t seen any reviews of the HD DVD.
With its gorgeous Technicolor photography (by Harry Wild), and maybe the only time Roy Rogers and Trigger appeared in Technicolor (vs. Republic’s TruColor), it’d be a nice thing to have in high-definition.
One of the older versions of the DVD used to pop up in the $5 bins here and there. They all looked nice. So if you come across one, get it!
